1. Create a Single-Choice Option Field
Entry path: + button on the right side of the header → Single Choice
- Click the
+button on the right side of the header. - Select
Single Choicefrom the field type list. - Enter a field name.
- Click
OKto finish.
Success Criteria
- A new single-choice field column appears in the table.
- The field can be opened in field settings for further option management.
Tips While Using
- Use a field name that clearly reflects the category purpose for easier filtering and reporting.
2. Add and Edit Options
Entry path: Right-click the field title → Field Settings → option list area
- Right-click the single-choice field title and select
Field Settings. - In the option list area, click
+ Add Optionto create a new option. - The table assigns different display colors to different options.
- Click the square color button before an option to change its display color.
Success Criteria
- The new option appears in the option list.
- Updated colors display correctly in the field options.
Tips While Using
- Keep option names short and consistent to avoid duplicate meanings.
3. Batch Edit Options
Entry path: Right-click the field title → Field Settings → Batch Edit
- Right-click the single-choice field title and select
Field Settings. - Click the
Batch Editbutton in the option list. - Enter one option per line in the text box, or paste multiple lines directly.
- Click
OKto save.
Success Criteria
- Multiple options are created in one action.
- The new options are immediately available for cell selection.

- Clean up duplicates before batch import to reduce later maintenance.
4. Allow New Options During Entry
Entry path: Right-click the field title → Field Settings → Allow adding options during entry switch
- Right-click the single-choice field title and select
Field Settings. - Turn on the
Allow adding options during entryswitch. - During record entry, if the input is not in the preset list, add it as a new option.
Success Criteria
- The switch is turned on.
- New input values can be added to the option list during entry.
Tips While Using
- If your category rules must stay strict, review newly added options regularly and merge or rename them when needed.
5. Set a Default Value
Entry path: Right-click the field title → Field Settings → Default Value
- Right-click the field title and select
Field Settings. - Choose one option from the
Default Valuedrop-down list. - Save the setting. New records will fill in that option automatically.
Success Criteria
- The default value is shown in field settings.
- New records automatically use the selected default option.
Tips While Using
- Default values work well for high-frequency categories. Review them regularly if your workflow changes often.
