How-to Guide

1. Add a dashboard filter

Entry: Dashboard → Filter button → choose a filter field

  1. Click the Filter button in the dashboard.
  2. Select the field you want to use for filtering, such as a date or text field.
  3. Set the filter logic as needed.
  4. Save the settings so the filter appears at the top of the dashboard.

Success Criteria

  • A filter control appears at the top of the dashboard.
  • You can continue adjusting the filter and reviewing chart changes.

Tips While Using

  • If you do not choose a field first, the filter cannot form a valid condition.
  • This action must be performed inside a dashboard that contains charts.

2. Use cross-table linked filtering

Entry: Dashboard → Filter button → Cross-table linked filtering switch

  1. Click the Filter button in the dashboard.
  2. Turn on the Cross-table linked filtering switch in the filter logic area.
  3. Select the matching field from the related data tables.
  4. Apply the filter condition and review the updated charts from different data sources.

Success Criteria

  • The linked filtering switch is turned on.
  • Related charts from different data sources update under the same filter condition.

Tips While Using

  • If a chart does not use the matching field, that chart will not respond to the filter.
  • Linked filtering depends on corresponding fields across the related charts or tables.
