1. Add an Area Chart Component to a Dashboard

Entry path: Dashboard page → Add Component → Chart → Area Chart

  1. Open the dashboard page.
  2. Click Add Component in the upper-left area.
  3. In the component panel, find Area Chart under the Chart category.
  4. Click Area Chart to insert a default chart component.
  5. Select the new chart and continue with data configuration.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new area chart component appears in the dashboard.
  • Next action available: You can open the editing panel and continue with setup.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you are not on a dashboard page, the Add Component entry may not be available.
  • Environment note: You need edit access to the current dashboard.

2. Edit or Export an Area Chart

Entry path: Select the chart → top-right More menu

  1. Click the area chart in the dashboard.
  2. Click the ... menu in the top-right corner of the chart.
  3. Choose Configure, Copy, Copy as Image, Export as Image, or Delete.
  4. Complete the action you need.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The menu opens and shows the available actions.
  • Next action available: You can reconfigure, copy, export, or remove the chart.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the chart is not selected first, it may be harder to confirm which chart you are editing.
  • Environment note: Wait until the page finishes loading before exporting or copying results.

3. Set Chart Type and Data

Entry path: Area Chart editing panel → Type and Data tab

  1. Open the editing panel for the area chart.
  2. Choose the data table in Data Source.
  3. Click Data Filter in Data Range to set filter conditions.
  4. Select the horizontal-axis field in Dimension (X-axis).
  5. Choose a chart type such as regular, stacked, or 100% stacked area chart.
  6. In Statistic Value (Y-axis), choose Count Records or Count a Specific Field.
  7. Set Group, Sort By, Sort Order, Display Empty Cells As, and Fields Shown in Detail Data as needed.
  8. Preview the result and click OK to apply the settings.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The preview pane updates to show the revised area chart.
  • Next action available: After you click OK, the chart displays according to the selected data rules.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the X-axis field and statistic value do not match the data structure, the chart may not show the expected result.
  • Environment note: The data source needs usable fields for dimensions, statistics, and grouping.

4. Adjust Chart Style

Entry path: Area Chart editing panel → Chart Style tab

  1. Open the area chart editing panel and switch to Chart Style.
  2. Choose a preset palette in Theme Color.
  3. Set the line display effect in Effect.
  4. Expand Series Color and adjust each series color.
  5. Expand Chart Elements to set text style, legend, maximum value, minimum value, and related items.
  6. Preview the result and click OK to save the style settings.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The preview area shows the updated colors and chart element settings.
  • Next action available: After saving, the dashboard chart uses the new style.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If series colors are too similar, different data series may be harder to distinguish.
