1. Select the trigger condition

Entry path: upper-right area of the table → AutomationCreate Blank Workflow → choose trigger type → On Button Click

  1. Open the target table in Bitable.
  2. Click Automation near the upper-right area.
  3. Select Create Blank Workflow.
  4. In Step 1 under If the following happens, click Please select a trigger condition.
  5. In the trigger list, select On Button Click.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the trigger condition area shows On Button Click.
  • Next action available: you can continue to the trigger settings panel to choose the table and field.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: leaving the trigger unselected, which prevents later settings from appearing.
  • Environment note: you need to enter the Bitable automation workflow creation page first.

2. Configure the trigger

Entry path: trigger settings panel → choose the table that contains the button / choose the field that contains the button

  1. In the Select the table that contains the button drop-down list, choose the target table.
  2. In the Select the field that contains the button drop-down list, choose the button field.
  3. If needed, click + Add conditions that must also be met to set filter conditions.
  4. Click Save and Enable in the upper-right corner to finish the setup.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the trigger is saved and the workflow is enabled.
  • Next action available: when the conditions are met, clicking the button can start the workflow.
  • No side effect: an incomplete setup is not saved if the button field is not selected.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: no button field exists in the table, so the field drop-down has no available option.
  • Permission note: you need permission to edit the target table and automation workflow.
  • Environment note: the fields and values used in filter conditions should match the field types in the target table.
