How-to Guide
1. Start an ascending sort
Entry path: Select the data range → Tools at the bottom → Ascending
- Open the spreadsheet file you want to organize.
- Select the data range you want to sort.
- Tap Tools on the bottom bar.
- Tap Ascending in the panel.
- Check whether the selected data has been reordered in ascending order.
Success Criteria
- What you should see: The order of data in the selected range changes.
- What you can do next: Continue editing, save the file, or perform other spreadsheet actions.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not select the data range first, the result may not match what you expect.
- Environment note: Make sure the current file is editable.
2. Start a descending sort
Entry path: Select the data range → Tools at the bottom → Descending
- Open the spreadsheet file you want to organize.
- Select the data range you want to sort.
- Tap Tools on the bottom bar.
- Tap Descending in the panel.
- Check whether the selected data has been reordered in descending order.
Success Criteria
- What you should see: The order of data in the selected range changes.
- What you can do next: Save the result or continue adjusting the sheet.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If only one column or a partial range is selected, only that selection may be affected.
- Environment note: Confirm the full range that should move together before sorting.
3. Undo a completed sort
Entry path: After sorting → Undo
- After you run an ascending or descending sort, review the current result.
- If you want to restore the previous order, tap Undo.
- Confirm that the sheet has returned to the state before sorting.
Success Criteria
- What you should see: The data order returns to the state before the sort.
- What you can do next: Choose another sort method or continue editing.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If many later edits have already been made, Undo may also affect those changes.
- Environment note: Undo as soon as you notice that the sort result is not what you want.
