1. Turn on Row and Column Shortcuts
Entry point: Lower-right status bar → Display Settings → Row and Column Shortcuts
- Open WPS Sheets and go to the worksheet that you want to edit.
- Click Display Settings in the lower-right status bar.
- Find Row and Column Shortcuts in the menu.
- Select the option. After it is enabled, shortcut buttons appear next to rows or columns.
Success Criteria
- UI state: Shortcut buttons appear near a row or column.
- Next actions: You can continue dragging the target row or column.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If you are not in an editable worksheet view, the entry may not appear.
2. Move or replace rows and columns quickly
Entry point: Shortcut button near the row or column header
- Select the row or column that you want to move or overwrite.
- Find the green shortcut button with an ellipsis near the top of the selected row or column.
- Drag the target row or column to the destination position.
- Release the mouse when the insertion indicator line appears in the target location.
- If you want to replace the original content, hold Shift while dragging and then release the mouse.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The target row or column moves to a new position or replaces content in the original location.
- Next actions: You can continue editing, save the file, or adjust the worksheet structure again.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: If you do not hold Shift, the action inserts and moves content instead of replacing it.
- Environment limits: Row and Column Shortcuts must be turned on before the shortcut button appears.
3. Turn off Row and Column Shortcuts
Entry point: Lower-right status bar → Display Settings → Row and Column Shortcuts
- Click Display Settings in the lower-right status bar.
- Find Row and Column Shortcuts in the menu.
- Clear the option.
- Return to the worksheet, and the shortcut buttons next to rows and columns are hidden.
Success Criteria
- UI state: The shortcut buttons are no longer visible.
- Next actions: Worksheet content remains available for normal editing.
- No side effects: Completed row and column changes are not undone.
Tips While Using
