When using Recalculate, the most common issues fall into 3 areas: results not updating, finding the entry, and formatting that affects calculations; this FAQ covers 3 common questions.
FAQ
What should I do if the result still does not update after recalculation?
- Check whether the related cells are formatted as text.
- If they are, change the format to General or Number.
- Return to the Tools area and run Recalculate again.
- Review the formula result again.
Why can’t I find the Recalculate option?
- Confirm that the file you opened is a spreadsheet, not a Writer or Presentation file.
- Tap the Tools tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Look for the Recalculate command in the tool list.
- If it still does not appear, update WPS Office to the latest version and check again.
Will recalculation change my original data?
- Recalculation refreshes formula results and does not directly overwrite the original values you entered.
- If the data referenced by the formula has changed, the result will update accordingly.
- After checking the result, save the file if you want to keep the latest output.
