Why did the cell stay the same after I changed the number format?

  1. Check whether the cell content is stored as text, such as content with an apostrophe at the beginning.
  2. Change the cell content to a value or date that can use number formatting.
  3. Open Number Format again and choose the appropriate category.

Why is my date showing as a number?

  1. Select the cell with the display issue.
  2. Open Number Format under Home.
  3. Change the format from a numeric category to Short Date or Long Date.

Does number formatting affect calculation results?
