1. Show or hide grid lines from the View tab

Entry: Top View tab → Grid Lines

  1. Open the spreadsheet file you want to edit.
  2. Click the View tab at the top of the window.
  3. Find the Grid Lines toggle in the toolbar.
  4. Click it to show grid lines. A selected state means grid lines are visible in the current worksheet.
  5. Click it again to hide grid lines.
  6. If you need to check another worksheet, switch to that sheet and review its display separately.

Success Criteria

  • Cell guide lines in the current worksheet become visible or hidden.
  • Spreadsheet content remains editable.
  • Other worksheets do not change automatically.

Tips While Using

  • Grid lines are display guides, not the same as cell borders.
  • You can still edit cells after hiding grid lines.
  • If you need visible lines when printing, use cell borders instead.

2. Switch grid lines from Display Settings on the status bar

  1. Open the spreadsheet and go to the target worksheet.
  2. Find the Display Settings button at the bottom-right corner of the window.
  3. Click Display Settings.
  4. Find the Grid Lines option in the menu.
  5. Click it to switch the current worksheet grid line display state.

Success Criteria

  • The grid line state of the current worksheet changes immediately.
  • You can complete the change without leaving the editing area.
  • Data and formatting in the sheet are not modified by the display change.

Tips While Using

  • This entry is useful for quick temporary display changes during editing.
  • If the bottom status bar is not visible, make sure you are in the normal worksheet editing view.
