Last updated:July 20, 2026

This FAQ covers 3 common question types, including undoing replacements, formatting impact, and search scope checks for Find and Replace on iOS.

FAQ

Can I undo a replacement?

  1. If you have just completed a replacement, avoid making more edits immediately.
  2. Use the spreadsheet undo action right away to roll back the recent change.
  3. Before replacing again, review the search results to confirm the affected scope.

Will replacing text change the original formatting?

  1. Find and Replace mainly changes the text content itself.
  2. In general, existing cell formatting does not change automatically when text is replaced.
  3. If the sheet contains formulas or special formatting, test on a small range before using Replace All.

Why do the search results not match what I expected?

  1. Open Settings and check whether the scope is the current worksheet or all worksheets.
  2. Confirm whether case sensitivity, full-width and half-width matching, or cell matching is enabled.
  3. If you need to search inside formulas, make sure the formula-related option is enabled.
