How-to Guide

1. Start Fill

Entry: Floating editing bar → Fill

  1. Select the cell or range that you want to fill to open the floating editing bar.
  2. Tap Fill.
  3. After Fill starts, direction arrows appear around the source cell.
  4. Drag the arrow in the direction you need to fill up, down, left, or right.
  5. Tap another area of the sheet to exit Fill.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the selected area enters the fill state and shows draggable direction arrows.
  • Next action available: after dragging, the target area shows the fill result and you can continue editing the sheet.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you do not select a cell or range first, the Fill entry may not appear.
  • Data impact: Fill can overwrite existing data in the target area, so check the destination before applying it.

2. Switch Fill Mode

Entry: Top area of the fill interface

  1. First complete one fill action by following the steps in Start Fill.
  2. At the top of the fill interface, tap Switch to Copy Fill.
  3. The result will stop using sequence recognition and will copy the source content instead.
  4. If you want the pattern to increase or decrease again, tap Switch to Series Fill.
  5. Preview the result, then tap another area of the sheet to exit Fill.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: a mode switch button appears at the top of the fill interface and can switch between the two modes.
  • Next action available: after switching, the target area updates according to the current fill mode.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if you have not dragged to fill first, the mode switch button may not appear.
  • Data impact: Copy Fill does not continue a sequence, while Series Fill tries to extend the existing pattern.
