What should I do if the chart does not update after the source data changes?

  1. First confirm that you changed the cells used by the chart, not a different area.
  2. If the chart does not refresh, reopen Edit Chart and check whether the data range is correct.
  3. If needed, set the data range again and confirm that the series and horizontal axis categories are linked correctly.

Will a chart saved as a picture still update automatically with the source data?

  1. No. After you save a chart as a picture, the exported file becomes a separate image and will not keep updating with spreadsheet data.
  2. The original chart in the worksheet can still update with the source data.
  3. If you need the latest image, export it again after updating the chart.

Why can’t I see the chart editing entry after selecting the sheet?

  1. Make sure you selected the chart object itself, not a regular cell range.
  2. If there is no chart in the worksheet yet, insert one first or open an existing chart.
  3. After selecting the chart, check whether entries such as Chart Elements, Chart Style, or Edit Chart appear.
