How-to Guide
1. Create a number field
Entry point: Tap the header > Edit > Field Type > Number
- Tap the target header.
- In the floating toolbar, tap Edit.
- In the field editing window, tap Field Type.
- Select Number.
- Set the field name, then confirm to finish.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: a new number field column appears in the table.
- What you can do next: you can continue entering numeric values in this field.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if you do not enter header editing first, you cannot change the field type.
- Environment note: mobile can create the field, but detailed display formatting is usually adjusted on desktop.
2. Enter a number
Entry point: Tap the target cell > Record details > Number field
- Tap the target cell to open the related record details.
- Tap the Number field.
- Enter the value you want to record.
- Return to the record details view or continue editing other fields.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: the numeric value appears in the corresponding field.
- What you can do next: the value can be reviewed, counted, or used in later calculations.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: entering the value in a different field can cause inconsistent data types.
- Environment note: if you need consistent decimal places or thousands separators, adjust them on desktop later.
3. Use a number field in a formula
Entry point: Open a table area that supports formulas and reference the number field
- Confirm that the target column is a Number field and already contains valid values.
- Open the place where the formula is configured.
- Reference the Number field directly in the formula.
- Save the formula and check whether the result is returned correctly.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: the formula returns a numeric result normally.
- What you can do next: when the number field changes, the related result can update accordingly.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: blank values or unexpected content can affect the calculation result.
- Environment note: the formula setup should stay consistent with the table structure.
4. Tell Number and Currency fields apart
Entry point: Open the field type list while creating or editing a field
- Open the Field Type list when creating or editing a field.
- Select Number for plain values such as quantities, counts, or scores.
- Select Currency if the field should show a money-related symbol directly.
- Finish creating the field based on the data purpose, then start entering values.
Success Criteria
- On-screen result: the field type matches the intended data purpose.
- What you can do next: later review and statistics are easier because plain values and money-related values are separated.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if money values are entered in a Number field, the display will not automatically show a currency symbol.
- Environment note: it is helpful to plan field types early when building the table.
