1. Create a line chart

Entry: Dashboard interface → "+ Add Component" → Chart → "Line Chart"

1. Open the dashboard interface.
2. Click the "+ Add Component" button in the upper-left area.
3. In the component panel, find "Line Chart" under the Chart category.
4. Click "Line Chart" to generate a default line chart component automatically.
5. Click the component to enter edit mode and continue configuring data.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: A new line chart component appears in the dashboard.
• Next action available: You can open the editing panel to continue with data and style settings.

Tips While Using

• Common mistake: If you are not in the dashboard page first, you may not see the add-component entry.
• Environment note: The current dashboard needs to be editable.

2. Open the edit menu and copy or export the chart

Entry: Click the added chart → the "..." icon in the upper-right corner

1. Click the line chart component that has already been added.
2. Click the "..." icon in the upper-right corner to open the drop-down menu.
3. Choose Configure, Copy, Copy as Image, Export as Image, or Delete as needed.
4. If you export an image, follow the on-screen prompts to save it.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The drop-down menu shows the available actions.
• Next action available: You can copy the chart, export it as an image, or reconfigure it.

Tips While Using

• Common mistake: If the chart is not selected first, the menu may not appear on the target component.
• Environment note: Exporting an image requires local save permission on your Mac.

3. Configure type and data

Entry: Line chart editing panel → "Type & Data" tab

1. Open the line chart editing panel.
2. Select the data table you want to use in Data Source.
3. Click Data Filter under Data Range to set filter conditions.
4. Choose a date field or another ordered field for Dimension (X-axis).
5. Select a standard or stacked style under Type.
6. Choose Count Records or a specified field under Metric (Y-axis).
7. Set Grouping, Sort By, Sort Order, and detail display fields as needed.
8. Preview the result and click OK to apply the settings.

• Interface result: The preview pane updates as your settings change.

• Common mistake: If the X-axis field has no meaningful order, the trend may be hard to interpret.

4. Adjust chart style

Entry: Line chart editing panel → "Chart Style" tab

1. Open the line chart editing panel and switch to Chart Style.
2. Choose a preset color scheme under Theme Color.
3. Change the line effect under Effect.
4. Expand Series Color to set colors for each data series.
5. Expand Chart Elements to configure the title, legend, and data labels.
6. Preview the result and click OK to save the style.

Entry: Line chart editing panel → "Type & Data" and "Chart Style"

1. Use dates, IDs, or other ordered fields for Dimension (X-axis) whenever possible.
2. Choose a comparison field in Grouping (Legend) to generate multiple line series.
3. Adjust Sort By and Sort Order to improve the display sequence.
4. Turn on the title, legend, and data labels in Chart Elements as needed.
5. Review the preview and save the chart when the trend is clear.
