Tips While Using

4. Know when to switch to Spreadsheet

Entry path: Decide after inserting a table

  1. Check whether the current table is only for text display, lists, or side-by-side information.
  2. If you need formulas, filtering, or statistics, do not continue using the layout table for complex data.
  3. Return to the insert-related tools and use Spreadsheet for data-oriented content.
  4. Keep the document table for explanatory or display-focused content.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: you have clearly separated layout-table use from spreadsheet use.
  • What you can do next: you can move to Spreadsheet when calculations are required.

Tips While Using

  • Tables in Smart Documents do not support formulas or filters.
  • If cells are merged later, the text in the merged area will display together, so it helps to confirm the layout first.
