1. Insert a spreadsheet from the Insert tab

Entry point: Insert → Spreadsheet

  1. Place the cursor where you want to insert the spreadsheet.
  2. Click Insert on the top toolbar.
  3. Select Spreadsheet.
  4. Choose the number of rows and columns you need.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new spreadsheet area appears in the document.
  • Next action available: You can select cells and start entering content.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the cursor is not placed first, the spreadsheet may be inserted in an unexpected location.

2. Insert a spreadsheet with slash commands

Entry point: Type “/” in a paragraph → Spreadsheet

  1. Type / in a paragraph to open the quick insert menu.
  2. Search for Spreadsheet or sheet.
  3. Select the spreadsheet option to insert it.
  4. You can also type /dzbg, /et, or /sheet to create one quickly.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Spreadsheet-related options appear in the quick menu.
  • Next action available: Selecting the option creates a spreadsheet at the current position.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you type the command but do not confirm the menu option, the spreadsheet may not be inserted.

3. Edit spreadsheet content inside the document

Entry point: Double-click the spreadsheet to enter editing mode

  1. Select a cell, or double-click a cell to enter editing mode.
  2. Enter or modify content in the cell.
  3. Use the floating toolbar or right-click menu to adjust cell style and content.
  4. Click outside the spreadsheet area to finish the current edit.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Cells can be selected and show an editable state.
  • Next action available: Updated content remains in the spreadsheet.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If you do not exit cell editing mode, it may seem like the content was not saved yet.

4. Use formulas and data organization tools

Entry point: Select cells or a range in the spreadsheet

  1. Select the data range you want to work with.
  2. Enter the required formula for calculation.
  3. Use filtering or sorting as needed to organize the data.
  4. Add a drop-down list if you want more standardized input.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Formula results display correctly, and the range can be sorted or filtered.
  • Next action available: You can continue adding data or adjusting formatting.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the wrong range is selected first, sorting or filtering may not produce the expected result.

5. Save the spreadsheet as a smart spreadsheet file

Entry point: Spreadsheet floating toolbar → More → Save as Spreadsheet

  1. Click the spreadsheet in the document to open the floating editing bar.
  2. Click More.
  3. Select Save as Spreadsheet.
  4. Follow the prompts to save it as a new smart spreadsheet file.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A save or export window appears.
  • Next action available: A new smart spreadsheet file is created and can be opened separately.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If the target spreadsheet is not selected first, the export option may not appear.
