How-to Guide
1. Find Text
Entry path: Top ribbon → Find and Replace → Find
- Open a smart document.
- Click Find and Replace in the top ribbon.
- In the dialog that appears at the upper right, select Find.
- Enter the keyword you want to search for.
- Press
Enter, or click Next to move to a matching result. - Keep clicking Next to move through later matches.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the find box appears at the upper right, and matching content is highlighted or selected.
- What you can do next: continue reviewing the next match or switch to replace mode.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: if the keyword is typed incorrectly, the target content may not be found.
- Limitation: the current search mainly targets text content. Highlight blocks or some table headings may not be included in the search scope.
2. Replace Text
Entry path: Top ribbon → Find and Replace → Replace
- Open a smart document.
- Click Find and Replace in the top ribbon.
- In the dialog that appears at the upper right, select Replace.
- In the Find box, enter the original text.
- In the Replace with box, enter the new text.
- Click Replace to update the current match, or click Replace All to update all matches at once.
- If the result is not what you expected, press
Ctrl+Zto undo the change.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: the current matched text is replaced, or all matched items in the document are updated.
- What you can do next: continue searching for other terms, save the document, or undo the change.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: using Replace All before checking context may change similar text that should stay unchanged.
- Limitation: the current replace workflow mainly targets plain text. If formatting matters, review each match before replacing.
