1. Run spell check from the Review tab
Entry: Review → Spell Check
- Select the cell range you want to review. If you want to check the whole sheet, you can leave the range unselected.
- Click Spell Check on the Review tab.
- Wait while WPS scans the selected range or the current sheet for English text.
- When a possible spelling issue appears, review the suggested correction.
- Choose the action you need, such as Change, Ignore, or Add to Dictionary.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: A spell check prompt or suggestion window appears.
- Next action available: You can continue changing, ignoring, or adding words to the dictionary.
- No unwanted changes: Other content is not changed unless you confirm an action.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the selected cells do not contain English text, there may be no suggestions to review.
- Environment note: Results depend on the actual text content in the cells.
2. Manage the custom dictionary and review language settings
Entry: File menu → Options → Spell Check → Custom Dictionary
- Click the File menu in the upper-left area.
- Select Options from the menu.
- In the left panel, choose Spell Check.
- Open the Custom Dictionary settings.
- Use options such as modify, create, or add to adjust dictionary content as needed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The spell check settings open and the custom dictionary entry is visible.
- Next action available: You can add or adjust dictionary content for later spell checking.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If a term is not added to the dictionary, it may continue to be flagged in later checks.
