How-to Guide
1. Adjust the Tilt Angle
Feature path: Tools → Home → “…” to the right of the text alignment area → Tilt Angle
- Select the cell where you want to change the text direction.
- Tap Tools at the bottom.
- Switch to the Home tab.
- Tap the … icon to the right of the text alignment area.
- In Tilt Angle, tap + or - to adjust the text angle.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The text inside the cell appears at the selected angle.
- What you can do next: You can continue editing content or refine the layout with row height and wrap text.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not select a cell first, the change may not apply to the intended content.
- Environment note: The visual result can vary depending on text length and cell size.
2. Fix Incomplete Display or Messy Layout
Feature path: After changing text direction, adjust row height and wrap text as needed
- Check whether the rotated text is clipped, incomplete, or crowded inside the cell.
- Increase the row height for the affected row if needed.
- Turn on wrap text when the content is longer and needs more space inside the cell.
- If the result is still not ideal, return to Tilt Angle and fine-tune the angle.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The text is displayed more completely and the cell layout looks clearer.
- What you can do next: You can continue entering, reviewing, or saving spreadsheet content.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: Changing only the angle without adjusting row height can leave vertical text or large-angle text clipped.
- Environment note: Extreme angles can reduce readability, so smaller angles are often easier to use.
3. Restore Default Horizontal Text
Feature path: Format Cells → Alignment
- Select the cells you want to restore.
- Open Format Cells.
- Go to Alignment settings.
- Clear Vertical Text.
- Set the angle to 0°.
- Confirm the setting and return to the spreadsheet.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The text returns to the default horizontal display.
- What you can do next: You can continue normal editing, copying, or pre-print review.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you clear vertical text but do not reset the angle to 0°, some rotation may remain.
