How-to Guide
1. Enable Protect Worksheet
Entry points:
- Path 1: Tools → Review → Protect Worksheet
- Path 2: Tap the worksheet name → floating menu → Protect
- Open WPS Spreadsheet and go to the worksheet you want to protect.
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen, then open the Review tab.
- Tap Protect Worksheet.
- Turn on Enable Protect.
- Optionally add a protection password and confirm it.
- Tap Done.
- Return to the editing page and check whether a 🔒 icon appears before the worksheet name.
Success Criteria
- Worksheet protection is enabled.
- A 🔒 icon appears before the worksheet name.
- The current worksheet is now in a protected state.
Tips While Using
- If you set a protection password, keep it in a safe place.
- You can also enter protection settings from the worksheet name floating menu.
- Some non-editing actions may still be available after protection is enabled.
2. Remove Protect Worksheet
Entry points:
- Path 1: Tools → Review → Remove Protect Worksheet
- Path 2: Tap the worksheet name → floating menu → Remove Protection
- Open the protected spreadsheet and switch to the target worksheet.
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen, then open the Review tab.
- Tap Remove Protect Worksheet.
- Return to the editing page and check whether the 🔒 icon before the worksheet name disappears.
- If you use the worksheet name floating menu, you can also tap Remove Protection directly.
Success Criteria
- Worksheet protection is removed.
- The 🔒 icon no longer appears before the worksheet name.
- The current worksheet can be edited again.
Tips While Using
- If a password was set earlier, you may need to complete the related verification before protection can be removed.
- Make sure you are on the worksheet that you want to unprotect.
