1. Turn On Protect Worksheet
Entry: Tools → Review → Protect Worksheet
- Open your WPS spreadsheet file.
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
- Open the Review tab.
- Tap Protect Worksheet.
- Turn on Enable Protection.
- Add a protection password if needed, then confirm it.
- Tap OK.
- Return to the editing page, open Tools → Review again, and confirm that Protect Worksheet is shown in green.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Protect Worksheet appears as enabled in the Review area.
- Next action available: The current worksheet is now in a protected state.
Tips While Using
- Keep the password in a safe place if you set one.
- Some non-editing actions may still remain available after protection is enabled.
2. Remove Protect Worksheet
Entry: Tools → Review → Protect Worksheet
- In a protected spreadsheet, tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
- Open the Review tab.
- Tap the green Protect Worksheet button.
- If a password was set, enter it when prompted.
- Return to the editing page and confirm that protection has been removed.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: Protect Worksheet no longer appears as enabled.
- Next action available: Regular editing of the worksheet is available again.
Tips While Using
- If you forget the password, you cannot complete the normal unprotect flow with that password.
- Before removing protection, confirm that the worksheet no longer needs editing limits.
