How-to Guide

Entry point: Insert tab → Link

  1. Select the cell where you want to add a link.
  2. Click Link on the Insert tab, or press Cmd+K.
  3. In the dialog box, enter the text you want to display.
  4. Open the Type drop-down list and choose the target type.
  5. In the link or address area, enter the destination or select the target.
  6. Click OK to finish.

Success Criteria

  • The selected cell displays clickable link text.
  • Hovering over the cell shows the link address or target information.
  • Clicking the link opens the related webpage, cell, worksheet, or other destination.
  • For web links, enter the full address so the destination opens correctly.
  • Different link types require different target information, so confirm the destination before saving.
  • If the link points to an external webpage or script target, make sure your current environment can access it.

Entry point: Right-click the linked object → Edit Link / Remove Link

  1. Right-click the cell or object that already contains a link.
  2. Select Edit Link to change the destination or link type.
  3. If you want to remove the link, select Remove Link.
  4. Check the cell content after the change to confirm the result.
  • After editing, the link opens the new destination.
  • After removal, the original text or content remains in the cell.
  • Other spreadsheet content is not deleted when the link is changed.
  • Confirm the original destination before editing so you do not change the wrong target.
  • Removing a link only deletes the jump relationship and does not automatically delete the cell text.
