How-to Guide

1. Insert a Floating Picture

Entry path: Insert > Picture > Floating Picture

  1. Select a cell near the target position in the collaborative spreadsheet.
  2. Click the Insert tab and select Picture.
  3. Choose Floating Picture.
  4. Select a local image file in the file picker and insert it.
  5. Drag the image to the right position and resize it as needed.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The image appears above the spreadsheet instead of inside a cell.
  • Next action available: You can continue moving or resizing the image.

Tips While Using

  • A floating picture does not take over the cell content area, but it may cover important data if placed carelessly.
  • If you use multiple floating pictures, place them by section to keep the sheet easier to review.

2. Insert a Cell Picture

Entry path: Insert > Picture > Cell Picture

  1. Select the target cell in the collaborative spreadsheet.
  2. Click the Insert tab and select Picture.
  3. Choose Cell Picture.
  4. Select an image from local storage or cloud space.
  5. Confirm that the image is inserted into the current cell.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: The image appears inside the cell and follows the cell size.
  • Next action available: You can continue adjusting row height or column width to change the display effect.

Tips While Using

  • After a cell picture is inserted, that cell cannot be used for text input.
  • For a more consistent layout, adjust row height and column width before inserting many images.

3. Change Paste Picture Settings

Entry path: Insert > Picture > When Pasting Pictures from External Sources

  1. Click the Insert tab and select Picture.
  2. Find the setting for pasting pictures from external sources.
  3. Choose Default to Floating Picture or Default to Cell Picture.
  4. Copy an external image and paste it into the spreadsheet to check the default result.

Success Criteria

  • Visual result: Later pasted images follow the selected default behavior.
  • Next action available: You do not need to switch image type manually after every paste.

Tips While Using

  • If you often work with product images or screenshots, setting the default behavior in advance can save time.
  • If you want a more structured spreadsheet layout, defaulting to cell pictures is usually easier to manage.
