This FAQ covers 4 common questions about finding the entry, understanding insertion direction, recovering from deletion, and checking whether membership is required.
FAQ
Why can't I find the Insert Row/Column option?
- Make sure the current file is an editable spreadsheet instead of a preview-only file.
- Tap or select the target row, column, or cell in the sheet.
- Check whether the floating menu appears, or open Tools and look for Insert.
- If the option still does not appear, update WPS Office and reopen the file.
Where will the inserted row or column appear?
- When you use Tools → Insert, a row is inserted above the selected row and a column is inserted to the right of the selected column.
- Confirm the current selection before you insert.
- If the result is not what you expected, use Undo and choose the position again.
Can I recover a deleted row or column?
- If the deletion was just completed, use Undo first.
- After recovery, confirm the exact range you want to remove.
- For important spreadsheets, keep a backup copy before deleting structure.
Does this feature require WPS Premium?
- This feature can be used directly.
- Everyday row insertion, column insertion, row deletion, and column deletion are not membership-restricted items.
- If you need broader office benefits, choose a membership plan based on your own usage needs.
