1. Freeze the first row, first column, or current position

Entry: Bottom toolbar → Tools → View → Freeze Panes

1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
2. Select the View tab.
3. Tap Freeze Panes.
4. Choose one of the following options as needed:
   • Current Position: Freeze panes based on the current cell position.
   • Freeze First Row: Freeze the first row of the sheet.
   • Freeze First Column: Freeze the first column of the sheet.
5. Scroll the sheet and confirm that the frozen rows or columns stay visible.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The frozen rows or columns stay fixed while you scroll.
• What you can do next: You can continue browsing, editing, or filtering the spreadsheet.

Tips While Using

• Common mistake: If you do not select the right current position before freezing, the fixed area may not match what you expect.

2. Unfreeze panes

Entry: Bottom toolbar → Tools → View → Freeze Panes

1. Tap Tools at the bottom.
2. Select the View tab.
3. Tap Freeze Panes again.
4. Confirm that all rows and columns return to normal scrolling.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: Previously fixed rows and columns no longer stay in place.
• What you can do next: The whole sheet can scroll normally up, down, left, and right.
