1. Apply a cell fill color

Feature path: Tools → Home → Fill Color

  1. Select one or more cells that need a background color.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Open the Home tab.
  4. Tap Fill Color.
  5. Select the color you want to apply.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected cells show the new background color.
  • What you can do next: You can continue editing, adjust other formatting, or save the file.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no cell is selected first, the color may not be applied to the intended area.
  • Environment note: You need to be in spreadsheet editing mode first.

2. Open more fill colors

Feature path: Tools → Home → Fill Color → More Colors

  1. Select the cell that you want to recolor.
  2. Open Tools and go to the Home tab.
  3. Tap the Fill Color panel.
  4. Tap ... to open more fill colors.
  5. Select the color you want.

  4. Select No Fill.
