  2. Click the Duplicate Values button on the Data tab.
  3. Select Highlight Duplicate Values.
  4. Choose a marking color in the dialog box.
  5. Review the cells filled with that color and continue checking the data manually.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Cells containing repeated data are marked with the selected color.
  • What you can do next: You can continue filtering, editing, or deleting repeated data.

Tips While Using

  • Duplicate detection is based on the currently selected range, so confirm the data range first.
  • If the sheet includes headers, avoid selecting unrelated areas by mistake.

2. Remove Duplicate Values

Feature path: Data → Duplicate Values → Remove Duplicate Values

  1. Select the data range that contains repeated records, usually including the header row.
  2. Click Duplicate Values, then select Remove Duplicate Values.
  3. In the dialog box, select the columns used to determine duplicates.

  5. Review the result message and confirm how many duplicate records were removed.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Duplicate rows are removed and only deduplicated records remain in the sheet.
  • What you can do next: You can continue saving, filtering, or analyzing the cleaned data.

Tips While Using

  • Back up the original data before deletion so you can compare results later if needed.
  • If duplicates should be checked by only some columns, clear the columns that should not be included.
  • Large data ranges may take some time to process.
