1. Import from Local Files

Feature entry: Data tab → Data Import → Import File Data

  1. Click the Data tab and open the Data Import drop-down menu.
  2. Select Import File Data.
  3. In the dialog box, confirm that the From Local File tab is selected.
  4. Add a file by dragging it in, pasting it, or clicking Select File.
  5. Choose the file you want to import. Supported formats are XLSX, XLS, ET, and CSV.
  6. After the file is selected, the data is imported into the current worksheet.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the imported data appears in the current worksheet.
  • What you can do next: you can continue editing, filtering, calculating, or saving the worksheet.

Tips While Using

  • If the file contains a large amount of data, check headers, column separation, and character display after import.
  • If CSV content appears garbled, check the original file encoding first.

2. Import from Online Documents

Feature entry: Data tab → Data Import → Import File Data → From Online Document

  1. Click the Data tab and open the Data Import drop-down menu.
  2. Select Import File Data.
  3. In the dialog box, switch to the From Online Document tab.
  4. Click Select File to open the cloud document picker.
  5. Locate the target file through categories such as Recent, Starred, Shared, My Cloud Documents, My Devices, or Frequent.
  6. Select the file and click OK.
  7. The data is imported into the current worksheet. Supported formats include XLSX, XLS, ET, CSV, and smart spreadsheets.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: data from the selected online document appears in the current worksheet.
  • What you can do next: you can continue editing and analyzing the imported result.

Tips While Using

  • Online document import usually requires sign-in and an available internet connection.
  • If you cannot find a file, check the category first or search by file name.

3. Schedule Database Imports

Feature entry: Data tab → Data Import → Scheduled Import MySQL Data / Scheduled Import SQLServer Data

  1. Click the Data tab and open the Data Import drop-down menu.
  2. Select Scheduled Import MySQL Data or Scheduled Import SQLServer Data.
  3. Configure the database connection details.
  4. Select the table to import and set the refresh frequency.
  5. Confirm the settings so the data can sync into the current worksheet automatically.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: database table data appears in the current worksheet.
  • What you can do next: after the refresh frequency is set, you can continue checking later sync results.

Tips While Using

  • Make sure the database connection details are correct and reachable.
  • If the data does not refresh later, check the refresh frequency and connection status.

Feature entry: Data tab → Data Import → Import More Data

  1. Click the Data tab and open the Data Import drop-down menu.
  2. Select Import More Data.
  3. Browse and choose another available data source import method.
