How-to Guide
1. Use the toolbar button to apply bold
Feature entry: Home tab → Bold
- Select the cell you want to format, or double-click a cell and select part of the text inside it.
- Click the Bold button (B) on the Home tab.
- Check whether the text changes to bold immediately.
- To remove bold, click the same button again.
Success Criteria
- The selected text appears in a heavier font weight.
- Clicking the same button again returns the text to its previous non-bold state.
Tips While Using
- If you only want to bold part of the text in a cell, enter cell editing mode before selecting the text.
- When formatting multiple cells, confirm the selected range first.
2. Use the keyboard shortcut to apply bold
Feature entry: Keyboard shortcut Command + B
- Select the target cell or selected text inside a cell.
- Press Command + B.
- Check whether the text has switched to bold.
- Press Command + B again if you want to remove bold.
Success Criteria
- The selected text changes to bold immediately after the shortcut is used.
- Using the same shortcut again toggles the formatting back.
Tips While Using
- Make sure the focus is inside the spreadsheet editing area.
- If another app or system shortcut interferes, return to the WPS spreadsheet window and try again.
3. Use the floating toolbar for quick formatting

- Select the text content you want to emphasize inside a cell.
- Right-click the selected content.
- Click the Bold option in the floating toolbar.
- Check whether the text has been formatted in bold.

- The floating toolbar appears after right-clicking selected content.

4. Use Format Cells to apply bold
