1. Turn Auto Wrap On or Off
Entry point: Tools → Home → Auto Wrap
- Select the cell or range where you want to change text wrapping.
- Tap the Tools tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Home.
- In the expanded menu, tap Auto Wrap.
- After it is turned on, content that exceeds the column width wraps automatically, and the row height for the cell or range becomes taller.
- Tap Auto Wrap again to turn the effect off.
- After it is turned off, the cell content returns to a single-line display and the overflow is cut off.
Success Criteria
- UI state: after Auto Wrap is turned on, long text appears on multiple lines inside the cell; after it is turned off, the content returns to one line.
- Next actions: you can continue editing cell content, adjusting column width, or using other formatting options.
- No side effects: the actual text inside the cell is not changed.
Tips While Using
- Common mistakes: if you do not select the target cell or range first, the result may not match what you expect.
- Environment limits: this setting applies only to the currently selected cell or range.
- Display note: Auto Wrap changes only the display mode and does not change the actual cell content.
