How-to Guide

1. Text Alignment

Entry path: Tools at the bottom → Home tab → Align Text area

  1. Select the cell that you want to format.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  3. Select the Home tab.
  4. In the Align Text area, choose the alignment option you need.

Success Criteria

  • The text position inside the selected cell changes.
  • The displayed position of headers, text, or numbers matches your layout needs.

Tips While Using

  • Numbers and text may use different default alignment styles, so it is helpful to select a range before applying a unified format.
  • Check the selected range before making changes to avoid editing the wrong cells.

2. Set Indentation

Entry path: Tools at the bottom → Home tab → Align Text area → Increase Indent / Decrease Indent

  1. Select the cell that you want to format.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  3. Select the Home tab.
  4. Tap Increase Indent to add indentation to the cell content.
  5. Tap Decrease Indent to reduce indentation for the cell content.

Success Criteria

  • The text position changes relative to the cell boundary.
  • The content hierarchy becomes clearer for titles, sub-items, or notes.

Tips While Using

  • Indentation is useful for showing hierarchy, but it does not replace cell merging or text wrapping.
  • If the visible change is small, review column width or text length together with the indentation setting.
