1. Apply the comment effect from the ribbon
Entry point: Edit tab → Edit Content → Text Edit → Comment
- Open the PDF file that you want to work on.
- Click the Edit tab on the top menu bar.
- Click Edit Content to enter content editing mode.
- Click Text Edit on the toolbar to switch to text editing mode.
- Select the text that you want to mark.
- Click Comment on the toolbar to apply the effect.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: After text is selected, the Comment button is available and the target text shows the applied effect.
- Next action: You can continue selecting other text, repeat the action, or save the PDF.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not enter text editing mode first, the command may not work as expected.
- Permissions or membership: This feature requires membership access for PDF editing.
- Environment limits: Text in scanned PDFs may not be directly editable. If needed, run OCR first.
2. Apply the comment effect from the floating toolbar
Entry point: Floating toolbar shown after selecting text in text editing mode → Comment
- Open the PDF file and enter Edit Content.
- Click Text Edit to make sure you are in text editing mode.
- Select the text that you want to mark.
- Click Comment on the floating toolbar above the selected text.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The floating toolbar appears after text selection, and the selected text shows the effect after you click the command.
- Next action: You can repeat the action on other text or click the same command again to remove the current effect.
