How-to Guide

1. Extract document text

Feature path: Convert tab → Extract Text

  1. Open the PDF file you want to process.
  2. Click the Convert tab on the top menu bar.
  3. Click Extract Text.
  4. In the dialog box, choose the extraction range: All Pages, Current Page, or Custom Pages.
  5. Select the recognition language.
  6. Click Start Extracting.
  7. Wait for processing to finish, then review the extracted content in the results pane.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The extracted text appears in the results area.
  • Next action available: You can select the text and continue by copying or saving it.

Tips While Using

  • Membership: This feature requires WPS Premium.
  • Common mistake: If the wrong page range is selected, the result may be incomplete, so check the page range before starting.
  • Environment note: Recognition quality for scanned PDFs depends on file clarity and the selected language.

2. Copy extracted text

Feature path: Convert tab → Extract Text → Results pane

  1. Complete the text extraction first.
  2. Select the text you want in the results pane.
  3. Right-click and choose Copy, or press Ctrl+C.
  4. Switch to the target app and paste the content.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected text is highlighted.
  • Next action available: You can paste the extracted text into another app successfully.

Tips While Using

  • Membership: This workflow depends on Extract Text and requires WPS Premium.
  • Common mistake: If extraction has not finished, there will be no text available to copy.

3. Save extracted text

Feature path: Convert tab → Extract Text → Results pane → Save

  1. Complete the text extraction first.
  2. Click Save in the results pane.
  3. Choose a save location.
  4. Select a file format such as TXT or Word.
  5. Click Save to finish exporting.
