When using Extract Text, the most common questions are about recognition accuracy, scanned PDFs, and formatting; this FAQ includes 4 common questions and a 4-term glossary.

FAQ

What can I do if the extracted text is not accurate?

  1. Check whether the original PDF is clear and complete.
  2. Run the extraction again and choose a more suitable recognition language.
  3. Proofread names, numbers, and paragraph breaks after extraction.
  4. If the file is scanned, try a clearer version of the PDF if available.

Can I extract text from a scanned PDF?

  1. Yes, scanned PDFs can be processed.
  2. Open Extract Text and choose the appropriate recognition language before starting.
  3. Review the recognized content in the results pane after processing.
  4. If the result is not ideal, try a clearer scan and run the extraction again.

Will the extracted text keep the original formatting?

  1. The extracted result tries to keep the text content and basic paragraph structure.
  2. Complex layouts, tables, or multi-column content may still need manual cleanup after export.
  3. If you want to continue editing, saving as a Word file can make later formatting adjustments easier.

Why is the results pane empty?

  1. Make sure you clicked Start Extracting and waited for the process to finish.
  2. Check whether the selected page range is correct.
  3. Confirm that your account has the required membership access.
  4. If the PDF page is blank, damaged, or unclear, the result may be empty.
