1. Apply Styles
Entry: Home tab → Styles drop-down menu
- Select the text that you want to turn into a heading.
- Click the Styles drop-down menu on the Home tab.
- Select the heading style you want, such as Heading 1, Heading 2, or Heading 3.
- The selected text updates to the preset heading format.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected text displays in the chosen heading style.

Tips While Using
- After you use heading styles, it is easier to build a table of contents and document outline later.

2. Modify Styles
Entry: Home tab → Styles drop-down menu → Style Management → Modify Style
- Click the Styles drop-down menu on the Home tab.
- Select Style Management.
- Click Modify Style.
- Finish the style changes and confirm them.
- All content using that style updates automatically.

- Interface result: Text using the selected style changes together.
