How-to Guide

1. Apply Styles

Entry path: Home tab → Styles drop-down menu

  1. Select the text that you want to turn into a heading.
  2. Click the Styles drop-down menu on the Home tab.
  3. Select the heading style you want, such as Heading 1, Heading 2, or Heading 3.
  4. The selected text will use the preset heading format.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the selected text displays the formatting of the chosen heading style.
  • What you can do next: continue applying styles to other paragraphs or keep editing the document.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: if text is not selected first, you may not immediately see the style change on the target paragraph.
  • Usage tip: heading styles are useful when you want to organize navigation or prepare a table of contents later.

2. Modify Styles

Entry path: Home tab → Styles drop-down menu → Style Management → Modify Style button

  1. Click the Styles drop-down menu on the Home tab.
  2. Select Style Management.
  3. Click the Modify Style button.
  4. Finish the style changes and click OK.
  5. All content using that style updates automatically.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: the related style shows the updated font, size, or other formatting effect.
  • What you can do next: content that already uses the style stays synchronized, and you can continue saving or exporting the document.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: manually changing one paragraph does not replace editing the style definition itself.
  • Usage tip: before modifying a style, check which content in the document already uses that style so you can update it consistently.
