1. Insert a Preset Text Watermark

Feature entry: Insert tab → Watermark; or Home tab → Insert → Watermark; or Page tab → Watermark

  1. Open the document where you want to add a watermark.
  2. Click the Insert tab and select Watermark.
  3. Choose the style you want from the preset watermark list.
  4. Available examples include Confidential, Do Not Copy, Original, and Sample.
  5. Click the preset to apply it to all pages in the document.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The selected preset watermark appears in the page background.
  • Next action available: You can continue editing, save the file, or open custom watermark settings.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no document is open, the watermark command may not be visible.

2. Create a Custom Watermark

Feature entry: Insert tab → Watermark → Custom Watermark

  1. Open the document, then click Watermark under the Insert tab.
  2. Click Custom Watermark in the drop-down menu.
  3. To use an image watermark, select the Image Watermark option.
  4. Adjust image scale, layout, and washout settings as needed.
  5. To use a text watermark, select the Text Watermark option.
  6. Enter the watermark text.
  7. Set the font, font size, color, layout, and transparency.
  8. Confirm the settings to apply the watermark.

3. Remove a Watermark

Feature entry: Insert tab → Watermark → Delete Watermark

  3. Click Delete Watermark.
  4. The current watermark is removed from the document.
  5. Watermarks on all pages are removed at the same time.
