How-to Guide
1. Insert a local image from the Insert tab
Entry: Insert tab → Picture
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the image.
- Click the
Inserttab. - Select
Picture. - In the file picker, choose a local image.
- Click
Opento insert it.
Success Criteria
- The image appears at the current cursor position.
- The image can be selected for further editing.
Tips While Using
- In collaborative mode, keep the network connection stable.
- If you do not see the image immediately, check nearby sections of the page.
2. Insert a local image from the Home tab
Entry: Home tab → Insert → Picture
- Place the cursor where you want to insert the image.
- Click
Insertunder theHometab. - Select
Picture. - Choose a local image in the file picker.
- Click
Opento finish.
Success Criteria
- The image is inserted into the document.
- You can continue to move it or adjust its layout.
Tips While Using
- Both entry points can complete the same task, so you can use the one you prefer.
- If the file cannot be selected, make sure the image is stored in an accessible local location.
3. Resize an image
Entry: Select the image and drag its border handles
- Click the image to select it.
- Check that control handles appear around the image.
- Drag a corner handle to scale the image proportionally.
- Drag a middle border handle to adjust width or height separately.
Success Criteria
- The image size changes.
- The image remains visible and can still be moved.
Tips While Using
- Corner handles are more convenient when you want to keep the image proportion.
- If the image is too large, reduce it first and then adjust the layout.
4. Set text wrapping for an image
Entry: Select the image → floating toolbar → Text Wrapping
- Click the image to select it.
- In the floating toolbar, open the image editing options.
- Open the
Text Wrappingdrop-down menu. - Select the wrapping style you need, such as In Line with Text, Square, Tight, or In Front of Text.
- Check whether the relationship between the image and the text matches your layout needs.
Success Criteria
- The layout relationship between the image and the text changes.
- You can continue moving the image based on the selected wrapping style.
