How-to Guide
1. Choose a highlight color
Entry path: Home tab → drop-down arrow next to Highlight
- Open the text document you want to edit.
- Select the text you want to mark.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to Highlight.
- Select the color you want.
- The selected text will display the chosen highlight background color.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The selected text shows the highlight color you chose.
- What you can do next: You can continue editing, save the document, or apply highlighting to other text.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If you do not select text first, you may not see the expected highlight result on the target text.
- Environment note: The document needs to be editable.
2. Remove highlighting
Entry path: Home tab → drop-down arrow next to Highlight → No Color
- Open a document that already contains highlighted text.
- Select the text you want to clear.
- Click the Highlight drop-down arrow.
- Select No Color.
- The highlight background is removed from the text.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The previous highlight disappears and the text returns to its normal appearance.
- What you can do next: You can apply another color or continue editing the document.
Tips While Using
- Common mistake: If the wrong text range is selected, only the current selection will be cleared.
3. Use the floating toolbar for highlighting
Entry path: Select text → floating toolbar → Highlight drop-down arrow
- Open a text document and select the text you want to highlight.
- In the floating toolbar that appears, find the Highlight drop-down arrow.
- Click the drop-down arrow and select a color.
- The selected text is highlighted immediately.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The text is highlighted successfully without switching to the top menu bar.
- What you can do next: You can select more text and repeat the action.

- Common mistake: If no text is selected, the floating toolbar may not show the related entry.
