1. Choose a highlight color

Entry point: Home tab → drop-down arrow next to Highlight

1. Open the text document that you want to edit.
2. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Highlight button.
3. Select the color you want from the list.
4. The selected text will use the chosen highlight background color.

Success Criteria

• UI state: The selected text shows the highlight color you chose.
• Next actions: You can continue editing text or repeat the same steps on other content.

Tips While Using

• Common mistakes: If you do not select text first, you may not see the expected highlight result on the target content.

2. Remove highlighting

Entry point: Home tab → drop-down arrow next to Highlight → No Color

1. Select the text that already has highlighting.
2. Click the Highlight drop-down arrow.
3. Select No Color.
4. The existing highlight color will be removed.

Success Criteria

• UI state: The background emphasis color disappears and the text returns to its normal display.
• Next actions: You can apply another color or continue editing the document.

3. Use the floating toolbar for highlighting

Entry point: Select text → floating toolbar → Highlight drop-down arrow

1. Select the text that you want to highlight.
2. In the floating toolbar, click the Highlight drop-down arrow.
3. Select the color you want.
4. The text will immediately use the selected highlight effect.
