1. Start voice input

Entry point: Editing mode → Bottom toolbar in the document → Voice Input

  1. Open the document you want to edit and enter editing mode.
  2. Bring up the keyboard.
  3. Tap Voice Input in the bottom toolbar.
  4. If this is your first time using it, allow WPS to access the microphone.
  5. Speak into your phone microphone, and the app will convert your speech into text in real time.
  6. When you finish, tap Stop or switch back to the regular keyboard to end voice input.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The voice input panel opens normally, and transcribed text appears in the document.
  • Next actions: You can continue editing, revising, or saving the document.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: If you are not in editing mode, the bottom toolbar may not show the Voice Input entry.
  • Environment limits: A network connection is required, and the device microphone must work normally.

2. Adjust voice input settings

Entry point: Voice input panel → HD Transcription / Standard

  1. Open the voice input panel first.
  2. Tap HD Transcription or Standard to open transcription settings.
  3. Change the recognition language as needed, such as Mandarin, English, or Cantonese.
  4. Switch the recognition engine as needed between HD transcription and standard transcription.
  5. Choose whether to translate the input text if needed.
  6. Turn on Speaker Differentiation if needed.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: The settings appear normally and can be changed successfully.
  • Next actions: After returning to voice input, you can continue transcription with the updated settings.
