How-to Guide

1. Start Brush and adjust settings

Entry point: Tools → Brush → Use Finger

  1. Open the document you want to mark up.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  3. Tap Brush.
  4. Turn on Use Finger.
  5. Choose the brush settings you need, including the standard pen, highlighter, or eraser.
  6. Select a brush color.
  7. Drag the thickness slider to adjust line thickness.
  8. Write or draw directly on the document page.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: the Brush panel is open, and pen type, color, and thickness settings are visible.
  • Next actions: when you move your finger on the document page, matching marks appear.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: if Use Finger is not turned on, the page may still respond mainly as normal touch navigation.
  • Environment limits: on a smaller screen, adjusting the page zoom before marking up can make writing easier.

2. Disable Brush

Entry point: Tools → Brush → Disable Brush

  1. Open the document page where Brush is currently in use.
  2. Tap Tools at the bottom.
  3. Tap Brush.
  4. Turn on Disable Brush.
  5. Return to the document page and confirm that drawing has stopped.

Success Criteria

  • UI state: Brush stops working, and touch actions no longer create new strokes on the page.
  • Next actions: you can continue browsing the document with fewer accidental marks.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistakes: if Brush is not disabled after markup is finished, extra strokes may appear while you continue moving through the page.
