How-to Guide
1. Apply bold from the Home tab
Entry point: Home tab → Bold
- Open your document and select the text you want to make bold.
- Click the Home tab.
- Click Bold.
- Check whether the selected text now appears in bold.
- You can also press
Command + Bto switch bold on or off quickly.

2. Remove bold from selected text
Entry point: Home tab → Bold
- Select the text that is already bold.
- Click Bold again, or press
Command + B. - Confirm that the text returns to normal weight.

3. Apply bold from Text Properties
Entry point: Home tab → Text Properties drop-down → Text Properties → Text tab → Bold
- Select the text you want to change.
- Click the Home tab.
- Open the Text Properties drop-down menu and select Text Properties.
- In the task pane on the right, switch to the Text tab.
- Click Bold to apply the setting.
