1. Apply the soft edge effect

Feature entry: Graphic Tools → Effects → Soft Edges

  1. Select the icon that you want to soften.
  2. Click the Graphic Tools tab at the top of the window.
  3. Click Effects.
  4. Select Soft Edges, then choose the preset point size you want.
  5. If you need more control, open More Settings.

Success Criteria

  • The icon edges appear softer on the slide.
  • When you select the object again, the effect remains applied.

Tips While Using

  • Select the icon first so the effect entry is available.

2. Customize the soft edge effect

Feature entry: Graphic Tools → Effects → Soft Edges → More Settings → Object Properties → Soft Edges

  1. Select the icon you want to edit.
  2. Click the Graphic Tools tab.
  3. Click Effects and choose Soft Edges.
  4. Click More Settings to open the Object Properties pane on the right.
  5. In Soft Edges, adjust the Size value.
  6. Review the live preview and click a blank area to finish.

Success Criteria

  • The Soft Edges setting appears in the Object Properties pane.
  • Changing the size changes the softness of the icon edge.

Tips While Using

  • The size can be adjusted from 0 pt to 100 pt.
  • If the value is too large, icon details may look less clear.

3. Set soft edges from the right-click menu

Feature entry: Right-click menu on the icon → Format Object

  1. Select the icon you want to adjust.
  2. Right-click the icon.
  3. Select Format Object.
  4. Find the soft edge settings in the Object Properties pane on the right and adjust them.
