1. Open COM Add-ins
Feature entry: Developer → COM Add-ins
- Make sure the Developer tab is already enabled.
- Click the COM Add-ins button on the Developer tab.
- Wait for the COM Add-ins window to open.

2. Add a COM Add-in
Feature entry: Developer → COM Add-ins → Add
- Open the COM Add-ins window.
- Click Add.
- In the file picker, locate the
.dllor.xlamadd-in file that you want to add. - Select the file and click Open.
- In the add-in list, select the checkbox for the new item to enable it.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: The new add-in appears in the list.
- What you can do next: You can enable it and continue using the related extension features.
Tips While Using
- Make sure the selected file comes from a trusted source and is intended for your environment.
- If the add-in does not work after being added, clear the checkbox first and then review compatibility.
3. Disable or Remove a COM Add-in
Feature entry: Developer → COM Add-ins
- Open the COM Add-ins window.
- Find the target add-in in the list.
- Clear its checkbox to disable it temporarily.
- Select the add-in and click Delete to remove it from the list.
Success Criteria
- Interface result: After you clear the checkbox, the add-in is no longer enabled, or after deletion it no longer appears in the list.

Tips While Using
