1. View the feature entry and preset categories

Entry path: Data tab → Conditional Formatting

  1. Select the cell range where you want to apply conditional formatting.
  2. Click Conditional Formatting on the Data tab.
  3. Review the preset categories in the drop-down menu.
  4. Choose from options such as Highlight Cells, Top/Bottom/Average, Data Bars, Color Scales, Icon Sets, New Rule, Manage Rules, or Clear Rules.

2. Create a new rule

Entry path: Data tab → Conditional Formatting → New Rule

  1. Select the cell range where you want to apply conditional formatting.
  2. Click Conditional Formatting → New Rule.
  3. In the New Conditional Formatting panel on the right, confirm or change the apply range.
  4. Select a rule type such as highlight cells, top or bottom and average, data bars, color scales, or icon sets.
  5. Set the condition, enter a value or formula, and choose the display style.
  6. Click Create Rule to apply the settings.

  3. Enter the condition value in the dialog box.
  4. Select or customize the display format.

4. Manage rules

  3. Double-click a rule or select it to edit the details.
  4. Adjust the rule priority as needed.
  5. Save the updated settings.

5. Clear rules
