  2. Select any cell inside the data range. A header cell is usually a practical choice.

  4. Wait for the Record Sheet window to open and display the current row.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The Record Sheet window opens and shows the fields for the current record.
  • Next action available: You can continue with Previous, Next, New, Delete, Criteria, or Restore.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: If no cell in the data range is selected, the feature may not identify the table as expected.
  • Environment note: A clear header row helps Record Sheet identify field names more clearly.

2. Browse Records

Entry: Use Previous or Next in the Record Sheet window.

  1. Open the Record Sheet window first.
  2. Click Previous to view the earlier record.
  3. Click Next to view the following record.
  4. Check whether the displayed field values match the record you want to review.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: The displayed content changes as you move between records.
  • Next action available: You can continue reviewing, editing, or deleting the current record.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Treating the fields in Record Sheet as a separate copy. Changes affect the original worksheet data.

3. Add or Delete Records

Entry: Use New or Delete in the Record Sheet window.

  1. Open the Record Sheet window.
  2. Click New to create a new record.
  3. Enter values in the fields and press Enter to confirm.
  4. To remove a record, move to the target record and click Delete.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: A new record is added to the worksheet after creation, or the current record is removed after deletion.
  • Next action available: You can continue browsing other records or add another record.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Deleting a record before confirming that the current row is the intended one.
  • Environment note: Changes in Record Sheet write back to the original worksheet, so backing up important data is recommended.

4. Locate Records with Criteria and Restore Changes

Entry: Use Criteria or Restore in the Record Sheet window.

  1. Open the Record Sheet window.
  2. Click Criteria and enter keywords or condition details.
  3. Review the matched record and confirm the target content.
  4. If you need to undo the current edit, click Restore.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: Criteria helps locate matching records, and Restore returns the current fields to their earlier state.
  • Next action available: You can continue browsing, editing, or deleting the located record.

Tips While Using

  • Common mistake: Using criteria that are too broad, which can make the result less precise.
  • Environment note: Restore applies to the current editing process, so confirm the content before moving to other actions.
