1. Set a macro security level

Feature entry: Developer Tools → Macro Security → Security Level

1. Open WPS Spreadsheet and enter the working environment where you need macros.
2. Click Macro Security on the Developer Tools tab.
3. In Trust Center, switch to the Security Level tab.
4. Select Very High, High, Medium, or Low as needed.
5. Click OK to save the setting.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: You can see the security level options and complete the selection.
• Next action available: After saving, you can continue opening macro-enabled files for verification.

Tips While Using

• Lower security levels allow more macros to run.
• After changes, restarting WPS is usually required for the setting to fully take effect.

2. Manage trusted publisher options

Feature entry: Developer Tools → Macro Security → Trusted Publishers

1. Click Macro Security on the Developer Tools tab.
2. In Trust Center, switch to the Trusted Publishers tab.
3. Select Trust access to VB projects if needed.
4. Select Trust access to WPS JS projects if needed.
5. Click OK to save the setting.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The selected options on the Trusted Publishers page are updated.
• Next action available: After closing the window, you can continue with macro project related work.

Tips While Using

• Turn on these trust options only when you really need development or debugging access.
• After saving, restart WPS before checking the result.

3. Enable macros for the current file from the security warning bar

Feature entry: The security warning bar after opening a macro-enabled file

1. Open the spreadsheet file that contains macros.
2. Check whether a security warning appears at the top of the window.
3. Click Enable Content or the corresponding enable button.
4. Confirm that you are enabling macros only for the current trusted file.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The security warning bar disappears or its status changes.
• Next action available: Macros in the current file can continue to run.

Tips While Using

• Only do this for files that you trust.
• If no warning appears, the current security level setting may be affecting the behavior.

4. Add a trusted location

Feature entry: File → Options → Trust Center → Trusted Locations

1. Click File in the upper-left corner.
2. Open Options.
3. Open Trust Center.
4. Open Trusted Locations.
5. Add the folder path that you want to trust and save the change.

Success Criteria

• Interface result: The new path appears in the trusted locations list.
• Next action available: Files in that path can be handled according to the trusted setting.

Tips While Using

• Add only local folders that you know are safe.
• Trusted locations are useful for internal template folders used over time.

5. Restart WPS so settings take effect

1. Save the current document.
2. Close all open WPS document windows.
3. Exit WPS completely.
4. Start WPS again.
5. Reopen the target file and check whether macro behavior matches your expectation.
