1. Open the package manager

Feature entry: Developer Tools tab → Package

  1. Open WPS Writer.
  2. Click the Developer Tools tab.
  3. In the XML group, click Package.
  4. In the Package dialog box, review or manage installed packages.

Success Criteria

  • The Package dialog box opens successfully.
  • You can continue with add, view, or delete actions.

Tips While Using

  • If you do not see the Developer Tools tab, confirm that your current interface and edition support this feature.
  • This feature requires Professional edition or higher.

2. Add an XML add-in package

Feature entry: Developer Tools tab → Package

  1. Open the Package dialog box.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Browse for and select the package file.
  4. Click Open to finish the import.

Success Criteria

  • The selected package appears in the package list.
  • You can review its name, version, or description afterward.

Tips While Using

  • If installation fails, check whether the file format is correct and whether the file is complete.
  • Use package files from trusted sources.

3. View installed packages

Feature entry: Developer Tools tab → Package

  1. Open the Package dialog box.
  2. Review the list of installed packages.
  3. Check the package name, version, and description.
  4. Decide whether a specific package should remain in use.

Success Criteria

  • You can see the currently installed packages in the list.
  • You can identify the basic information for each package.

Tips While Using

  • If the list is empty, no package has been added yet.
  • If a package does not seem to work, check its status and restart WPS Writer before testing again.

4. Delete a package

Feature entry: Developer Tools tab → Package → Delete

  1. Open the Package dialog box.
  2. Select the package you want to remove.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Success Criteria

  • The selected package is removed from the list.
  • The package list refreshes after deletion.

Tips While Using

  • Confirm that the package is no longer needed before you remove it.
  • Deleting a package does not directly rewrite existing document content.
