1. Transfer document ownership from the Share panel

Entry: Open the document → Share at the upper right → Advanced Settings → Transfer Document Ownership

  1. Open the collaborative document whose ownership you want to transfer, then click Share at the upper right.
  2. In the Share panel, click Advanced Settings.
  3. Click Transfer Document Ownership.
  4. Choose Transfer to Contact or Transfer by Link.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm and wait for the transfer to take effect.

Success Criteria

  • Interface result: You can see the Transfer Document Ownership option and transfer methods.
  • Next action available: You can continue by selecting a recipient or generating a transfer link.
  • No side effect: The document content is not edited immediately when you start the transfer.

2. Transfer document ownership from the file action menu

  3. Select Document Management.
  4. Click Transfer Document Ownership.

3. Transfer document ownership from the WPS home page

Entry: My Cloud Documents → Share on the right side of the document → Document Management → Transfer Document Ownership

  1. Open the WPS home page and find the target document in My Cloud Documents.
  2. Click the blue Share button on the right side of the document.
  3. Click Document Management and then Transfer Document Ownership.
  4. Choose contact-based transfer or link-based transfer.
  5. Confirm the action to complete the ownership transfer.

  • Interface result: You can open Share and Document Management directly from the home page document list.
  • Next action available: You can complete the transfer flow without opening the document body first.
